Once an individual attains CCN Pro status, they are then eligible (if active status is maintained) to further attest to their horticultural knowledge and expertise by taking any or all of the optional advanced exams on:

• Turf Management
• Insect, Disease and Weed

• New & Improved Irrigation
• Roses
• Citrus

Upon passing with 80% or better, Advanced CCN Pro (ACCNP) status is awarded.

The Advanced Exam Program offers the satisfaction of achieving additional personal and professional goals while upholding the CCN Pro motto of "Improving the nursery industry and quality of service through training and education."

All of the Advanced CCN Pro recognition items are enhanced.  The badge has gold stars, one for each of the advanced exams you successfully pass, the certificate is embellished, and the wallet identification card is Plantinum level.

The advanced certification exams are held twice a year in February and June. Locations are in northern and southern California. Advanced exams are given in conjunction with the initial certification exams.

Turf Management

• 3 hour, two part exam
• Questions: 200 true/false, multiple choice
• Matching and Calculation Problems Sections on lawn insects and lawn diseases. Calculations involve a problem where square footage must be figured along with amendment, quantities, and costs
• Study Materials: Turf Workbook. This can be purchased for $30 from the CANGC office at the time of registration.

Insect, Disease and Weed Exam

• 3 hour two part exam
• 200 questions, true/false, multiple choice
• Identification of 35 insects, diseases and weeds
• Study Materials: Pests of Landscape Tree and Shrubs, An Integrated Pest Management Guide, 2007 Edition.  Order this from the CANGC office at the time of registration.
